The MAK Milk is a 100 L batch pasteurizer designed for controlled heating and mixing of milk and other liquid or semi-liquid dairy products. The unit uses integrated 6.5 kW electric heating through a sandwich bottom and an enclosed air-insulated wall instead of a conventional water jacket, providing efficient heat transfer without the need for a heat-transfer fluid.

  • 6.5 kW integrated electric heating through the sandwich bottom
  • Enclosed air-insulated twin-wall construction for efficient heat transfer without a water jacket
  • Scraper agitator with bottom and wall scrapers for continuous product movement across heated surfaces
  • Interchangeable agitator system allowing the scraper to be replaced with an optional curd knife
  • Available with manual six-stage heating control or digital PID temperature control with timer and variable-speed mixing

The MAK Milk Pasteurizer 100 is a batch processing unit designed for pasteurizing milk and other liquid dairy products.

It combines controlled electric heating with continuous mechanical mixing to provide uniform temperature distribution throughout the product. The pasteurizer has a volume of 100 L and is manufactured with a double wall stainless steel construction. Unlike conventional pasteurizers that use a water jacket for indirect heating, the MAK Milk Pasteurizer uses an enclosed air space within the vessel wall. Heat generated by the 6.5 kW electric heating element beneath the vessel base, with the heat being transferred through the sandwich bottom and into the enclosed air space around the vessel, which transfers heat back to the cylindrical vessel wall instead of dissipating into the surrounding environment.

This construction provides indirect heating of the product from both the bottom and the heated vessel wall without requiring water or another heat-transfer fluid. It also reduces heat loss from the vessel and simplifies the heating system by eliminating the need for a separate water-jacket circuit.

The vessel is equipped with a 0.55 kW geared agitator drive and a scraper-type mixing system. The agitator is fitted with scrapers for the bottom and vessel wall, continuously moving the milk away from heated surfaces and helping maintain uniform heat distribution. The hinged scraper blades maintain contact with the metal surfaces during operation and are available in stainless steel or polymer versions depending on the application.

The agitator uses a universal Tri-clamp for quick and simple mixer attachment without the need for any special tools, allowing different mixing tools to be installed on the same drive. For applications involving cheese and curd production, the scraper agitator can be removed manually and replaced with an optional curd knife for stirring and processing the curd grain.

The finished product can be discharged through the integrated DN50 butterfly valve, providing a convenient connection for transferring the processed product to the next stage of production.

Suitable for processing

The MAK Milk Pasteurizer 100 is suitable for batch pasteurization and controlled heating of:

  • Milk
  • Dairy products
  • Liquid dairy mixtures
  • Products requiring controlled heating and holding
  • Milk intended for further cheese or fermented dairy production

Advantages

  • Uniform product heating through combined bottom heating and heat transfer through the enclosed air-insulated vessel wall.
  • No water jacket or separate heat-transfer fluid system is required, simplifying the heating arrangement and reducing heat losses.
  • Continuous scraper mixing keeps the product moving across heated surfaces and helps reduce localized overheating and product buildup.
  • Bottom and wall scrapers improve heat transfer by maintaining product contact with the heated vessel surfaces.
  • The universal Tri-clamp attachment for the agitator allows different mixing tools to be used for different processing operations.
  • The optional curd knife can be installed on the same drive after removing the scraper agitator, allowing the unit to also be used for curd processing.
  • The digital P version provides automatic PID temperature regulation, timed holding, and adjustable agitator speed for more precise process control.
  • The manual M version provides a simple six-stage heating system and direct product temperature indication.
  • The DN50 butterfly valve allows convenient and controlled product discharge.
  • The stainless steel twin-wall construction provides a hygienic and durable solution for professional dairy processing.
  • Adjustable feet allow the unit to be securely positioned on different production floors.

Control versions

The pasteurizer is available in two control configurations.

Manual M version

The manual version is equipped with a six-step heating power selector and an immersion bimetallic thermometer. The product temperature can be monitored directly from the front-mounted dial, providing simple and reliable control without complex electronic components.

Digital P version

The digital version provides automatic process control using a PT100 temperature probe positioned directly in the product and a PID controller. The controller automatically regulates the heating system to reach and maintain the selected product temperature. A cycle timer can be used to control the required holding period during pasteurization, while a frequency inverter allows adjustment of the agitator speed according to the product and processing requirements.
